Navy Federal Credit Union Center Stair

The center stair at the Navy Federal Credit Union Call Center in Winchester, Virginia took just under a year from design to installation, and was completed in July 2013. A team of approximately twenty-five Shickel employees from every department logged just under 1,300 hours on the project. CNC Machining, waterjet cutting, CNC Forming, Steel Fabrication, Stainless Steel Fabrication, Polishing, Painting, Installation, Drafting, and Engineering all played vital roles in making this architectural component a reality.

As is the case with many Shickel projects, this was a community effort involving collaboration with HITT Contracting, J3 Design Collective, and Engineering Solutions. The end result was an intricate center stair featuring steel channel stringers, a glass guardrail, and custom designed stainless steel posts and handrails.
